Online Therapy in Edmonton, Alberta

Adrie-Anne Gamble, Master Practitioner in Clinical Counselling, online therapist in Edmonton, AB

Trauma, Anxiety, Narcissistic Abuse Therapy

You do not have to have everything figured out before reaching out.

I provide online counselling to adults in Edmonton and throughout Alberta who are struggling with trauma, anxiety, emotional neglect, narcissistic abuse, family scapegoating, estrangement, or patterns that have been difficult to change.

You may understand what happened, but still be struggling with how it affects you today. You may find yourself overthinking conversations, questioning your feelings or decisions, struggling to trust yourself, or having difficulty knowing what to do when relationships become complicated.

Therapy can provide a space to understand what is happening, work through what you have experienced, and develop new ways of responding.

You May Know Something Needs to Change, But Not Know Where to Start

Sometimes you can understand your situation intellectually and still feel stuck in the same patterns.

You may be:

  • Overthinking conversations and wondering if you said or did something wrong
  • Questioning your own feelings, memories, or perceptions
  • Struggling with anxiety, panic, or a nervous system that feels constantly on alert
  • Having difficulty setting boundaries without guilt
  • Feeling responsible for other people's emotions
  • Struggling to trust yourself or your decisions
  • Trying to make sense of a difficult or confusing relationship
  • Grieving family relationships, estrangement, or what you wished your family could have been
  • Feeling disconnected from yourself or unsure of what you need
  • Finding that past experiences continue to affect your relationships today

These patterns often make sense in the context of what you have lived through. Therapy can help you understand where they came from while creating space to develop new ways of relating to yourself and others.

Areas I Work With

My work focuses on the effects of trauma, difficult relationships, and experiences that can leave you questioning yourself, your relationships, or what you can trust.

Trauma can affect much more than how you remember the past. It can shape how you respond to stress, relationships, conflict, and your own emotions.

We can work with the effects of complex and developmental trauma, including flashbacks, body memories, dissociation, emotional overwhelm, and patterns that developed to help you cope.

When you have spent a long time being criticized, manipulated, blamed, dismissed, or made to question yourself, it can become difficult to know what to trust.

Therapy can help you make sense of what happened, rebuild trust in yourself, strengthen boundaries, and understand the patterns that may still be affecting you.

Family relationships can be complicated, particularly when you have been placed in a role where you feel blamed, misunderstood, or responsible for keeping the peace.

Estrangement can bring grief, relief, anger, guilt, and uncertainty all at once. Therapy can provide space to work through these experiences without having to minimize what happened or defend why it affected you.

Anxiety can make it difficult to quiet your mind, trust your decisions, or feel settled in your own life.

We can work on understanding the patterns that keep anxiety going while developing skills to respond differently.

If you did not grow up with healthy relationships modeled for you, you may have had to figure out relationships on your own.

Therapy can help you develop skills for communication, boundaries, emotional regulation, conflict, repair, accountability, and staying connected to yourself while being close to others.

Therapy Goes Beyond the Surface

I believe therapy should make room for both what you are experiencing now and what may be underneath it.

We can work on the practical questions of: “How do I handle this?” while also exploring the deeper experiences that may be shaping how you respond.

Depending on what you need, I integrate approaches such as EMDR, IFS and parts work, attachment-focused therapy, ERP, and other trauma-informed approaches.

Therapy is not about forcing you into a particular model. It is about understanding what is happening for you, what you need most to heal and move forward, and what feels most comfortable for you.

If faith is important to you, I can also provide support from a Christian perspective when requested.

You Do Not Have to Figure It All Out on Your Own

You do not need to know exactly what is wrong, have the right words, or understand where your patterns came from before starting therapy.

We can begin with what you are experiencing now and go from there.
