The reason I became a counsellor is that it felt authentic in my heart to show up for people who suffer alone and who are not understood.
My own healing journey has also shaped who I am as a therapist. I have recovered from narcissistic abuse, trauma, and anxiety, and I know personally how confusing, overwhelming, and isolating these experiences can be. I know what it is like to search for answers, to do the hard work of healing, and to slowly find your way back to yourself.
Because of my passion to want to make a difference, I have invested time over the past 10 years to specialized training to best support my clients in finding healing and be able to move forward in their lives. Having said that, you will sense I am relational first and clinical second in our sessions.
My personal experience gives me understanding, while my professional training provides the tools and framework to support meaningful change.
My counselling background includes a Master’s degree in Counselling, and designations of Master Practitioner in Clinical Counselling with the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association and a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
I offer a gentle, caring space where you can feel understood, validated, and believed without judgment.
In our work together, we not only focus on healing what has happened, but also on developing what may not have been fully nurtured: self-trust, emotional regulation, healthy boundaries, and a secure sense of self. Through experiential, trauma-informed therapy, we create opportunities for new experiences of safety, connection, and confidence that can gradually become part of daily life.
One of the most meaningful shifts in therapy is when people begin to see themselves differently. They start to recognize that many of their struggles are understandable responses to what they have lived through. Over time, they begin to separate their identity from the roles they have been placed in and slowly learn to trust themselves again.
If you've spent years trying to understand yourself in relationships that never made sense, this is something we can begin to explore together.
I also offer counselling from an accepting Christian perspective for those who request it.
Therapy works best when there is a sense of honest connection and genuine care for what you're going through. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can explore whether working together feels like the right fit for you.
